The last post reminds me of something I've been doing for years! Something, which I was avoiding to put up here. But now I've lost all patience so here I begin with a series of posts, which to me atleast are damn interesting !!! I hope you all enjoy it...

or, 25 - 45 = 16 - 36

or, 5^{2} - 5*9 = 4^{2} - 4*9

or, 5^{2} - 5*9 + 81/4 = 4^{2} - 4*9 + 89/4

or, (5 - 9/2)^{2} = (4 - 9/2)^{2}

or, (5 - 9/2) = (4 - 9/2)

or, 5 = 4

The very interesting infinitie series :

0 = 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 ...

For those who don't find it so interesting, follow me.

0 = ( 1 - 1 )

:. 0 = ( 1-1 ) + ( 1-1 ) + ( 1-1 ) ...

Now all of you would have paid attention in primary school when we were taught the associative law of addition.

Interestingly applying that here,

0 = ( 1-1 ) + ( 1-1 ) ...

or, 0 = 1 + (-1+1) + (-1+1) ...

or, o = 1 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + ...

or, 0 = 1**or, 1 = 2**

or, sqrt(-1) = sqrt(-1)

or, sqrt(-1/1) = sqrt(1/-1)

or, sqrt(-1)/sqrt(1) = sqrt(1)/sqrt(-1)

or, i/1 = 1/i

or, -1 = 1

or, 2 = 0

or, 1 = 0

lol yeah I really liked these ques - but they can't easily be proved wrong - got 1st and 3rd... but twish didn't agree with the 2nd logic..

About the second one Rash, you had a good arguement, but this is an infinite series so there is no last term! The catch here is sumwhat not-so-obvious.

Well in 1st u haven't taken the modulus so the result. In the second one you have performed mathematical operation on infinity.

(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+....... is as good as (1+1+1+1.....)-(1+1+1+....)

now this is infinity-infinity. And this operation is crap.

In the third problem also u have played with square root.

there is some thing wrong with the interpretation of number system theories here ... i will study on the topic ... i will give u all satisfactory reasons ...

thanx for the ideas to dig into ...these will certainly kill some of my boredom ...
